4 Lip Shades to Try This Summer
For the Summer I will be doing a Makeover Me Over Monday series where I’ll focus on Beauty and Fashion tips, trends, and how to’s. I decided to share my favorite lip shades of 2016 that are definitely perfect for the Summer.
Before we get into the lipsticks and lip glosses, let’s discuss the lip prep. If you want your lips to look soft and smooth under your lip shade, you have to prep your lips. A gentle facial scrub is great at exfoliating your lips. Once a week, apply a small dab of exfoliator on your lips and gently massage the lip area, rinse, and moisturize. A great exfoliator to use is the Earth Science Apricot Gentle Facial Scrub. Nivea Moisture Lip Care is a great lip moisturizer to use overnight, in the morning before applying makeup, or all day under your lipstick or when you’re not wearing any.
Let’s take a look at some of my favorite lipstick shades for this summer.
Purple
NYX Butter Gloss in Raspberry Tart. I love this bright purple lip gloss from NYX. The color is vibrant and bold, just right for the Summer. It can be worn for your daytime look or a night out on the town.
Pink
Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color in Electric Pink. Electric Pink is the perfect shade for this season. The Maybelline Color Sensational line is highly pigmented with a creamy texture which keeps your lips feeling moist for a matte liquid lip color.
Nude
Sonia Kashuk® Satin Luxe Lip Color with SPF 16 in Barely Nude. This nude shade has just the right amount of shimmer for the Summer. This shade also works for daytime, as its great for work or play.
Red
Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lip Color in Red. Red is the staple lip shade for all seasons. Wear it this summer with your “no makeup” look or glam it up with a soft smokey eye.
