How I’d Style a Cute Denim Vest

It’s almost summer, which means the weather is becoming increasingly hotter. In my attempt to put away my infamous denim jackets, I have been looking to purchase a denim vest to replace them. Well, I actual ordered one a few hours before writing this blog. As I always do before making any clothing purchase, I hit up Pinterest for “pinspiration” to make sure I will be able to style the item.

What does that mean? I simply go onto Pinterest and look at my Fashion Boards to see what outfit inspirations I have pinned or search the item if I don’t have any pins for that item. pinterest screenshotI check to see if I already have other clothing pieces to wear with the wanted item or if I would need to purchase an entire outfit. If it seems like this piece is something I will get a lot of use for, I will purchase it (unless I really really want to have it). I started this process because I would buy clothes that I thought I needed, and find them hanging in the closet months later with the tags still on them because I had absolutely nothing to wear with them. To aid in this process, I try to only pin outfit inspirations on Pinterest with clothing pieces similar to what I already have.

Matching a denim vest is pretty easy since it is a staple piece.  You may simply wear it with what you would wear a denim jacket with. Of course that was not my plan. I wanted to create “newer” looks for me to wear to my casual summer job and to hang out on the weekends. I had several pins from the past for denim vest on my board, but I found some really cute looks by searching denim vest. Here are some looks I got from Pinterest:

They’re something you want in your closet not just for the spring and summer, you can layer them over long-sleeves in the fall and winter to stay cozy and stylish. Which look is your favorite?                                                                                                                                                                         Remember to follow me on Pinterest and Instagram for more style inspiration!
