How To Turn Your Mood Around

This year my focus has been on making some positive lifestyle changes. And, although I wished that meant that I was floating around on cotton candy clouds all of the time, that is just not the case nor realistic.

However, when my mood seems to shift south, there are some things I do, that works to turn my mood around. And lucky for you, I am sharing them with you to help you deal with your negative feelings.

  • Take a deep breath, or two, or ten
  • Eat a healthy meal
  • Understand your feelings and come up with a plan to adjust your response to whatever caused you to feel that way
  • Look for the positives in all things negative, I’ve found this to be quite amusing at times when the positives are things I tend to overlook.
  • Have a good cry
  • Take a nap and relax
  • Go out and be sociable
  • Take a moment of silence, meditate
  • Remember that negative feelings are normal and temporary
  • Watch or read something funny
  • Watch your favorite movie
  • Exercise, be active
  • Do something kind for someone else
  • Go through your things and donate stuff to goodwill
  • Forgive yourself
  • Read something inspirational, read Bible verses
  • Repeat positive affirmations to yourself
  • Pray
