My Favorite Books of 2018

In honor of National Book Lovers Day on August 9th, I am sharing my favorite books of 2018.

It takes a lot for me to really love a book. But these books are books that I had to force myself to put down.

These books were all fun, easy to read books for entertainment purposes. Click each title to get the book’s overview.

favorite booksRoyce Rolls by Margaret Stohl

I by chance read this work at work one day, just wanting to see what it was about. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed reading this teenage drama based on reality TV “stars” whom I don’t care too much for. I guess, since the book is about fictional characters, it worked to keep my interest. Along with the “need to know” that the author leaves you with at the end of each chapter, and the surprising turn of events at the ending, made this book more suspenseful than anticipated.

favorite booksThe Takedown by Corrie Wang

I am a sucker for a mystery or a puzzle that needs to be solved. If that describes you, “The Takedown” is the book to read.  It’s a modern day who done it that takes place in the near future. I enjoyed following the lead character as she tried to figure out who was behind her demise. This was a super easy read and one that I can definitely see myself reading again, soon!

favorite booksNantucket Summer by Leila Howland

So, I must confess, I am not done reading this book. But, by the time you see this, I  probably will be. This is a two in one book, clearly based in Nantucket, Nantucket Blue, and Nantucket Red. I thought it would be an easy Summer read, and it is. Another surprising book I just can’t put down.  This one is a love story with triangles and tragedy. In book one, I was disappointed in how it ended, but that was just Howland’s way of making sure you continue to read book two. I’m halfway through book two and can’t wait to see how the main character’s love life will turn out in the end.

favorite booksThe Holy Bible

Well, I couldn’t leave this book out. As part of my Summer Bible reading plan, I have been reading the book of 1 Timothy.  So controversial! It is so true that every time you read the Bible you see something you didn’t before. For real, it was like I had never read 1 Timothy in my life. So eye-opening! I am super glad I choose this as part of my Summer reading plan, where I have more time to spend with it.
